Holistic & Homeopathic Nutrition Degrees & Programs

A degree in holistic nutrition provides graduates with an understanding of the value of healthy foods, a healthy environment and a good understanding of holistic methods. The holistic nutrition industry is based on assisting patients to make informed choices about their individual set of optimal circumstances for health and healing. Holistic nutrition, more than other types of nutrition practice, focuses on a ‘whole body and mind’ approach to wellness, not just food and exercise. To understand holistic nutrition, students will learn all aspects of human development and its relationship to the foods we eat, the way we think and the environment in which we live.

Holistic Nutrition Classes

Holistic nutrition courses cover a variety of subjects throughout a degree program. From anatomy, physiolog, biology, chemistry and the traditional sciences to nutritional areas including macro and micronutrients, metabolism, organics and dietetics to the human body’s digestive, immune, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal and nervous systems, a holistic nutrition degree treats nutrition and the body as one, interworking element.

Additional courses include those on sports and fitness, diseases and illnesses, geriatrics, pediatrics and long term care, diet analysis and planning and nutritional supplements. Students will cover all aspects of a holistic nutritionist’s daily job duties, in a variety of work environments. Upon graduation, a degree holder will understand the most important aspects of each area of practice.

Many times students will also take courses in areas of business, psychology, nursing, health care management and even statistics and economics, depending on the career goals after graduation. Many of these schools offer a wide array of classes to complement your degree or certification. Those interested should research each school program carefully to find the one that offers the best path to your chosen career.
